Welcome to the Shire of Forth Castle!!!

What Are We?
Welcome to the Savannah chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism, The Shire of Forth Castle. We are a branch in the Kingdom of Meridies. We are in the Low Country of Georgia, and include the areas of: Savannah, Hinesville, Pooler, Springfield, Rincon, Pembroke, Richmond Hill, and Brooklet.
Are you a history buff?
You have come to the right place. The SCA is a group of people who are interested in researching and recreating aspects of pre-17th century Europe. We share and encourage your scholarly pursuits and research to recreate the arts, sciences and culture from the past: Armour, Brewing, Cooking, Dance, Crafts, Clothes and more!
Have you ever dreamed of strapping on armor and shield and entering into heavy weapons combat?
Join one of the most fun physical contests known to man.
Do you long for the days when chivalry was alive?
That is exactly what we are all about. We re-create and live the days of the Medieval era.

What Are You Talking About?
An “anachronism” is a thing out of its proper place in time, and the SCA strives to bring the dreams and ideals of the Middle Ages into the present day by actively recreating aspects of Medieval life. Research and a desire for authenticity help to create the ambiance of Medieval times. The pageantry of costume and armor create a feeling of reality, a feeling of stepping back through time to a simpler and more Chivalric age.
Membership in the SCA is open to everyone who has an interest and desire to learn more about the lifestyle and customs of the Middle Ages and Renaissance periods. While membership is not required to attend events, if you do decide to become a member you will receive discounted admission to events and a subscription to the monthly publication of the Kingdom of Meridies, Popular Chivalry.
The SCA is divided into various regional kingdoms throughout the world. In the United States there are 19 major kingdoms. The Shire of Forth Castle, specifically, is a part of the Kingdom of Meridies.
Around this site you’ll find the various activities that we offer locally to our members as well as the faces that help make this shire the most fantastic organization in the low country. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
