Wilhelm Südekum
(Pronounced Will-helm or Vill-helm Sue-deh-come)
m.k.a. Bill Hammond
Pronouns: he/him

"Viel Feind, Viel Ehre"
(Many Foes, Much Honor)

Wilhelm is a 16th century German Landsknecht meaning "servant of the land." He and his wife, Jennifer of Forth Castle, have four children: Gwynevere Elizabeth, William Alexander, Anna Victoria, and Wesley Phillip The Stormborn Child. The Landsknecht were colourful mercenary soldiers with a formidable reputation as brutal, sought after mercenaries, making them the most feared soldiers in Europe. Skilled with long spears in pike formation, polearms like the Halberd, great swords like the flammenschwert or flame sword, and short swords called Katzbalger the Landsknecht became a dominant military force. What made the Landsknecht so conspicuous was their elaborate dress. Maximilian I exempted them from the prevalent sumptuary laws (that dictated the color and style of clothing for classes) as an acknowledgement of their "short and brutish" lives. As a result, the Landsknecht chose to dress in the most garish clothing possible to flaunt their social status and intimidate their enemies. Doublets deliberately slashed at the front, back and sleeves with shirts pulled through to form puffs of brightly-colored fabric, multi-colored hose, and broad, flat beret-type hats called Tellerbarrets with tall, colorful feathers, made them bodies of men that could not be mistaken.

He has completed the
Reaper Challenge via heavy combat (100 days consecutively striking a pell 100 times). This challenge is not official, but simply a personal challenge of self to push and see what you can do.

Picture
The Stormborn Child
by Timothy of Benington

They stowed up their wagon, and rode for the village
A birth there to be, under warm summer sky
In an age of a plague, in a time of great tumult
They pushed toward that village, the sun drawing high
But there stood a mob, oh they challenged their liege lords
For many among them, held writs of complaint
But the sheriff and guardsmen, held fast ‘gainst this mob
The roads they were blocked, and they nay held restraint

This child for sure, he is meant for great things
Oh, this child for sure is a sight to behold
Sent forth to be born with calamity raging
Such destiny rivals the stories of old

Had only a shieldwall been present to guide them
Had only an escort of knights seen them through
Then Wilhelm and Jen, they might get to this village
To see their son born to his destiny true
But stopped was their wagon, and timid their horses
To violence and plague and to chaos abound
They beckoned the driver move on toward the village
For there was no other safe route to be found

This child for sure, he is meant for great things
Oh, this child for certain, a sight to behold
Sent forth to be born with calamity raging
Such destiny rivals the stories of old

The barber awaits just a dozen leagues further
But the longer they travel the madder the crowd
A miracle needed for hope of this child
To see the warm sun, and see parents so proud
And thus does a miracle rise there to greet them
The clouds they did crowd round that warm summer sun
The violence gave pause, and the mob looked in splendor
As the trickles of rain from a storm had begun

This child for sure, he is meant for great things
Oh, this child for sure is a sight to behold
Sent forth to be born with calamity raging
Such destiny rivals the stories of old

What began as a trickle, it grew to torrent
The mobsmen and guardsmen alike they did flee
The wagon pressed forward as crowds they departed
Their anger was washed with the streams toward the sea
The wagon pushed on, and alas met the barber
Young Wesley was coming to meet chaos and storms
But despite the thunders and mobs and great plague
A sign of a beautiful future was born

This child for sure, he is meant for great things
Oh, this child for sure is a sight to behold
Sent forth to be born with calamity raging
Such destiny rivals the stories of old

a.k.a.: Lady Cristyan Gwen

m.k.a. Christi Knight

Catylyn Wen is an early 15th century Welsh woman. "Wen" is a nickname meaning white or fair skinned; such bynames were frequently used instead of surnames in northern Europe at the time. Catylyn was born and raised at Castell Harlech in Gwynedd on the edge of Snowdonia. Her husband was in service to John Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury, when the English laid siege to Harlech Castle in 1409 after the revolt of Owain Glyndŵr. They were married in 1410 as part of the peace process. Cristoff was a career chirurgeon so Catylyn was able to indulge her love of travel for several years by journeying to visit him at his various posts. He has since been released from service and now calls Wales his home. In her spare time, Catylyn enjoys reading, embroidery/sewing, and playing with her pack of 4 small yappy dogs.

She is a
protégé to Meistres Bronwen o Gydweli of Meridies.

Catylyn is currently the

Lady Elizabeth nic Brion Donall Gilbert

Meghan Gelatt
Pronouns: s
he/her/them/they

Lady Elizabeth was born in the area of the East Kingdom that later became the Kingdom of Æthelmearc. She attended her first event, Pennsic 18, at 6 days old. The daughter of some real old-timey Peers, she is the very definition of an SCA brat. She once, as a toddler, failed to recognise her father until he put on his armor. She has a Silver Buckle from Æthelmearc, the children's award. Lady Elizabeth was at one time the youngest AoA in Æthelmearc, having done exhausting and adult-value work in the kitchen at Æthelmearc's first Crown Tourney and many other events at 12 years old. Her mother, a cooking laurel who is writing this missive, likes to tell the story of how Lady Elizabeth stayed up to 3 AM with her mom, making medieval meat pies for the event because Elizabeth wouldn't let her Mom deal with the results of a broken swamp cooler at the event, alone at night. Despite her amazing work ethic, Lady Elizabeth once danced through an event with a boom box playing Eminem, in protest of her parents insisting she attend an event instead of going to a concert. Elizabeth has hoarded feast leftovers of strawberries and snow, so she could take them to school in her lunch box. She was once punished to retain onstage for the royalty, for the crime of heckling in court. She makes a bang-up version of Cheese Goo (Sir Kenelm Digby's Savory Toasted Cheese).

She also has the honor to be elected to the Order of the Pelican (for Service/not sitting still very well) and has a couple of other shiny titles (Court Baroness and Ladyship), but is very mediocre about being ladylike, wearing fancy clothes, or putting on shoes. She belongs to House Sheep Rock and Comitatus.

Lilla likes helping, eating, and drinking coffee in large amounts. She has been known to sing and will someday put her heavy armor back on.

She is currently open to talking to people about becoming students/proteges but is not very active in the Kingdom at this time.

Lord Sigmund Malovich
m.k.a Sig Hewett.

Sigmund is of Russian descent though born on the faraway shores of Lochac.  He was raised by travelling performers before setting out for a life of adventure on the open seas.  Fearing becoming 'too popular' with Port Authorities and several gambling dens, he worked for passage to the Kingdom of Caid. Between sea voyages aboard the Privateer Ship Indigo Rose, Sigmund would perform juggling and minor illusions for the Lords and Ladies of Starkafn - but always sure to keep 'one foot in the sea' should he run into disputes of property ownership, or otherwise becoming 'too popular'. Sigmund was thought lost at sea and drowned for over a decade before mysteriously arriving in Meridies as Captain of a merchant ship laden with far eastern goods.  Neither Captain, nor Owner, nor Ships Master give the same story on the ships origin, nor tell the same story more than thrice, and port documents and manifestos always seem to meet with freak accidents...

He is a
Man at Arms to Lord Pietro Di Vatavia.

Sigmund Malovich was lost at sea on June 24th, 2018. Rest In Peace, you are greatly missed.
