Shire Practices:

Please check our Facebook Page (no account required) for practice updates. We try our best, but some times we must reschedule or cancel practices due to issues such as inclement weather or scheduling conflicts.

ALL Marshal activities require participants to provide proof of their SCA membership (your blue card) OR to sign a standard waiver (you do NOT have to be a member of the SCA to try out these activities).  These things are required for safety reasons and to make sure that the appropriate Marshals have gone over the basics with you. We want everybody to have fun, but safety first.

Archery & Thrown Weapons Practice:

We do not have a set schedule for practice, but we try to have them at least twice a month. We try to have some during weekdays, and some during the weekend so that all members of the populace have a better chance of coordinating around their work schedules. They are always posted to the Shire's Facebook Page with as much notice as possible. We use the public range at L Scott Stell Park. This is a public range and we share it with the general public and the other local archery group, The Ogeechee Bowman....which has helped us to acquire new folks so we don't mind at all.
Address: 195 Scott Stell Rd., Savannah, GA 31419

To get to the range from the entry sign at the main gate: Take the first right and follow the road all the way around until it ends at the range.

We have some loaner bows, arrows, and other gear if you would like to try things out. We only shoot traditional style bows (such as longbows or recurve bows) - No compound bows please. Arrows should ideally be wooden with feather fletching, but most arrows are acceptable for children or when starting out.

If you have any questions about Live Weapons or equipment, please contact one of our Live Weapons Marshals.  Maddelena 'Raven' de Ricci & Kevin the Broken can direct you accordingly, but all of our LW Marshals and MiTs can be found on our Officers Page
.

Heavy Fighter Practice:

Fighter Practice is held most Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at  JF Gregory Park in Richmond Hill, GA. There is a Covered Pavilion area.

The address is: 521 Cedar Street, Richmond Hill, GA 31324.

Check with our Heavy Fighting Marshal if you have any questions.
Loaner Armour is available if you want to try a new sport. Regardless of gender, BYOC (We do not loan out groin protection, so Bring Your Own Cup).
